Overview

This special safari lets you witness the Great Wildebeest Migration. Over 2 million Wildebeest, Zebra, and Gazelles move through the Serengeti and Maasai Mara ecosystem in search of green pastures and safe calving ground. This 8 Days Serengeti Migration Safari and Zanzibar, is a special Tanzania Holiday Package for Witnessing the Great Serengeti Wildebeest Migration and Zanzibar beach holiday.

The biggest chance to see river crossings is around July and August when the wildebeest migrate from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the Maasai Mara in Kenya or around September and October when they cross the way around. July marks the start of the Maasai Mara River crossing as well as the mating season in the Serengeti. It is the time of the year when wildebeest herds begin moving faster in search of water and greener grass, making their way across the Grumeti and Mara River.

To follow the rhythm of nature, your second day of this trip would be a flight to Kogatende in the northern Serengeti from where a short yet exciting game drive would give you some unforgettable memories. The beautiful landscape and commanding wildlife settle here in the northern region. Delicious afternoon meal is served in the open dining tent and if you are energetic enough; you can take an afternoon game drive too.

Early breakfast is recommended so you can leave for a guided full day game drive where you can possibly witness the Great Migration (Mid July-Mid September) depending upon which time of the year are you visiting. Your guide will be able to suggest you and would take you places where herds of wildebeest would be gathered, spread out or moving. Mara River banks are a sight to see and you may be lucky to witness a jaw dropping encounter as well. An afternoon walk or sundowner experience can be enjoyed too.

Hit the plains for some of the most exciting drives through or soak in the scenic beauty of this land. Explore the place where you can still find some natural sounds and peace and it wouldn’t be harder to spot all from your list of big 5. Gather for dinner where you can share highlights of your trip.

Next morning, you catch a flight to Zanzibar. Our representative will be there at the airport and would transfer to beautiful beach hotel for vacation. Three nights here, you can explore white sand beaches and crystalline blue waters with outstanding beach activities. One of these days should be chosen for the stone town tour.

Last day, we transfer you to the Zanzibar International airport from where you can take your flight back home or to your next holiday destination.
